CII Southampton Newsletter February 2008
Welcome to the second edition of the Insurance Institute of Southampton email newsletter of a busy 2008.
We have details of two forthcoming programme events discussing FSA broker visits and online aggregators, both hot topics in the industry so please book in advance, plus the latest on the annual dinner now only weeks away.

2008 Dinner Friday 22nd February For those of you still to arrange a ticket to catch our guest speaker and former Southampton youth player Garry Richardson, there may be a few spares so click here to contact Diane Williams by email or call 078 1029 6954 asap.
A DJ and disco are added to the entertainment this year and you'll find the full dinner menu here - veggies please notify us in advance. Don't forget bars open at 1830, dinner called at 1945. Free parking available for all at St. Mary's stadium, click here for a map.

Next Programme Event - Tuesday 26th February at the Southampton Park Hotel
Jim Dart, Director of Compliance at the RWA Group 'Common issues arising from FSA monitoring visits'
The RWA Group looks after the compliance arrangements of over 200 small to medium sized broking firms, so Jim Dart is well placed to advise on current FSA attitudes and feedback on issues that may arise in the event of an FSA "arrow" visit. This is a rare opportunity for brokers in our area to hear what is going on in compliance ‘from the horse’s mouth’. It is essential that you register your interest early, by email to Neil Sinclair: sinclan@norwich-union.co.uk . Arrive at 12.15 for a 12.45 start with the usual free buffet lunch. Click here for a map.

Special Breakfast Briefing: Tuesday 4th March, Marriott Port Solent (Heritage Suite)
Tony Martin, BDML New Business Director: 'Insurance Aggregators - Fad or Here to Stay?'
With some brokers now processing over one million quotes a month online, it is clear that comparison technologies have the power to be disruptive to the broker market. Attendees to this special morning briefing, inclusive of a delicious free breakfast, should register asap by email to Sarah Woolrich: sarah.woolrich@bdml.co.uk
Arrive 8.30am for a 9am start, click here for a map.
